Snorkeling Skills-
1)Very important that you make sure all snorkeling equipment fits perfectly.
2)It's better to go to the Bahamas more prepared with snorkeling skills. In the ocean you will end up with a mouth/nose full of saltwater.
3)Practice the recommended skills below:
The basics of snorkeling include:
● The ability to float on one's stomach with facemask in the water. It is helpful to be able to roll from a snorkeling position to floating on one's back with fin tips up, in order to make any mask, snorkel, or vest adjustments.
● The ability to tread water in order to avoid standing on marine life.
● The ability to clear the snorkel with a short blast of air with face in the water.
● The ability to kick from the waist, rather than the knees.
More advanced snorkeling techniques include:
● Bending at the waist to dive, allowing leg weight to push the body underwater, and then kicking once under.
● The dolphin kick, where both legs move together.
● Clearing mask and snorkel while underwater.
